Weddings by Esther was established by Esther Sabetpour in 2005 to provide a unique wedding photography service. Esther’s photography, like her background, is a fusion of eastern and western elements. Born from mixed Iranian British parentage, her personal work has been an exploration of cultural identity and self- image. Esther studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and later went on to the London College of Printing, where she gained a first class honors degree in photography in 2003.

Esther’s heritage and surrounding community in East London inspired her to become one of the female pioneers in contemporary British-Asian wedding photography. As a sought after female photographer, she is revered for outstanding composition, colors and unique story telling ability. WBE undertakes all types of weddings both in the UK and abroad with focus on British, Middle Eastern, Muslim, Hindu and Sikh weddings.

Esther adapts fine art photography to the real-time, fast-moving family celebration that is a wedding. The WBE aim is to capture the unique social fusion and elaborate family traditions that compose a wedding. Equally important is communication, manner and level of direction by the photographer . The emphasis is on enjoyment and fun in front of the camera. Esther’s communication and personality enables her to help all subjects feel relaxed and at ease whilst being photographed.

“My background and profession is firmly rooted in fine art photography. Within my photography I emanate color and rhythm: bringing together light, composition and storytelling into each image. A picture may not only be pleasing to the eye but it can also have powerful content able to evoke an emotional response from the viewer.

Over the years, I developed a longing for a deeper understanding and connection with tradition, family and subsequently the timeless ritual of marriage. What does the celebration of marriage mean to people of different cultural backgrounds and religions? I am driven to explore this and the beauty and expression of love – through my photographic practice.

My mission is to capture the pure energy within the wedding celebration and the unique ceremonies, which unite the wedding couple, their family and friends.
